Hello.

This is a little bit about me and my previous work. Hopefully it will put my ideas and perspectives into context.

  • I have a Bachelor's Degree from Hampshire College in Media Theory and Film Studies. Most of my teachers were cultural Marxists. My thesis was a 30 minute short film about aliens running the Advertising Industry.

Other work:
The Sixth Section
Broadway: The American Musical
!Yo Soy Boricua!
The Homestead Strike
Archive of embarrassing commercial work (last update: 2004)

  • In 2005 I entered ITP and began combining my animation and post-production experience with my newfound programming skills.
  • My ICM final project was a Processing Library called Javae, which would load an After Effects composition into Preocessing. Unfortunately, the export option I was using was removed from After Effects, and so Javae is virtually useless.
  • The Seven Deadly Meals is a virtual pop-up book that uses camera motion tracking for interactivity. The elements in the scene were placed in After Effects, and then the coordinates for each element were exported into Java.
  • Breathless was an attempt to rethink the structure of a comic book within the medium of interactive real-time animations. The story is about love found and then lost, and the user navigates through the story by literally blowing away the images. By the end of the story, the user feels light-headed, woozy, and definitely breathless, just like the main character.
  • MegaPhone 3000 is a two player game where players battle in 10 mini games. The loser is disconnected, and the winner plays on!

MegaPhone 3000 has grown into Play MegaPhone, inc. a company that provides interactivity to big screens through people's cell phones. Currently, I am the Technical Director of Play MegaPhone.
